WINTER MOON

November 30, 2007 Carissa Crimson 3 comments

I saw a post from Winter Moon on Fashion Planet and just had to rush right out to the shop. I loved it so much I had to do a quick post!

Suave II
Winter Moon Suave II
I was drawn to the high waist of the pants. After I bought it and put it on though, I was astounded by the texturing on the pants. The realistic detailed wrinkling and Shifte was pretty darn happy with the snug shaping created by the shading in the booty area. I LOVE THESE PANTS!!

While I was there, I picked up a couple of hairs with an attached versatile color/texture change bucket hat.

Jaunty and Jaunty II
Winter Moon Jaunty
Jaunty is a low loosely pulled back ponytail and Jaunty II is a loose style with subtle face framing curls and a bit of flex in the back. I’m a blondie, but these come is LOTS of shades with color tipped options as well. More hat textures are included, but I just took a few quick snaps of some of my faves.

Mega Yard Sale

November 27, 2007 Carissa Crimson Leave a comment

I decided to simplify my SLife. I bought a smaller house from Barnesworth and I’m going for a modern look with clean lines. I started pulling out all of my furnishings, landscaping, and home decor and decided I just wanted to start over.

So…I have everything set out on a huge prim mostly set for sale. I say mostly because organizing and pricing stuff is BORING and after about 30 to 45 minutes I have to take a shopping break.

So take a peek, you may find something you like. If so that’s GREAT, if not…thanks for looking!

If you run across something that you like that isn’t priced yet, just drop me a notecard named !!YARDSALE <Your Name> with the list of items you are interested in. I’ll send it back to you with the prices after I get them set for sale.

It’s a MESS so be warned!!

MIA for a couple of weeks

November 20, 2007 Carissa Crimson 4 comments

I just wanted to send out a quick message that I’m going to be MIA for a couple of weeks until I can get a new laptop built and sent, because the one I’ve had for only a year is completely out of commission. That’s what happens when you drop it on the concrete driveway and didn’t buy the Accidental Damage Warranty.

I’ll be back on SL as soon as Dell puts a new and improved ‘puter in my butter fingered mitts (WITH an Accidental Damage coverage this time…oh…and I’m totally getting a better graphic card while I’m at it.)

XOXO

More from LBD Revolution

November 17, 2007 Carissa Crimson 2 comments

I mentioned in my last post that I bought another ensemble from LeeZu Baxter’s Revolution Collection. Found at LBD Village

For $1100L, this is what I got. (Prepare to scroll, coz it’s a lot and I’ll have to cut it so I don’t hog the Fashion Planet Feed.)

Lola:
LBDRevolutionLola3
LBDRevolutionLola1
Prim skirt options: Black and Beige. Black over glitch pants, Beige over a system skirt…
LBDRevolutionLola2
Seen here. *points out how adorable her booty looks in this skirt*
Then the pants…
LBDRevolutionLola4
Adorable sculpty prim slouchy prim attachments. Oh. and did you notice yet that there are two jacket options, and a fab prim scarf? *waits for you to scroll back up and notice the aforementioned jackets and scarf*

I suppose now is a good time for a cut. After the leap you’ll see another skirt option (remember the alpha textured skirt thing I love so much?) and a couple of accents with other pieces that transform the look.

Blog Posts

November 14, 2007 Carissa Crimson 11 comments

I just wanted to take a minute and clarify some of my blog posts. If I am given or request items for Review, I will label them as [Review] as I did for the DigitDarkes & Diversity Hair [review].

However, if I post about something I find while out shopping and want to share, I don’t consider it a review. Obviously I love it or I wouldn’t be blogging about it. For example, I wrote LBD Revolution because I was excited to share it, but it seems that LeeZu’s items and the bloggers who have posted about them are coming under a bit of criticism due to the pricing. There was a reason I spent an hour trying to decide on ONE of the Revolution ensembles. They aren’t inexpensive (with the one I selected taking a $14ooL chunk out of my wallet) but I love it down to the last prim. And guess what? I love the collection so much and find it so worth the money that I went back yesterday and did another $1100L worth of damage to my balance.

The thing is…designers get to put their own value on their creations, not the people consuming them. If you can’t afford it, then don’t buy it. It’s like my $200 Seven Jeans in real life. I certainly don’t see nearly as many girls running around in those as I do my $20 jeans from Old Navy. Is there a huge difference in quality? in craftsmanship? not really…but I do so LOVE what Sevens do to my booty. So I buy them. I love LeeZu’s innovation and the artistry of her designs. So I buy it.

Ok. I’ve rambled enough.

LBD Revolution

November 13, 2007 Carissa Crimson 5 comments

A few weeks ago I attended a Fashion Show featuring Leezu Baxter Designs’ Revolution collection and was completely delighted by the innovation and creativity that hit the runway outfit after outfit. I FINALLY got a chance to drop by Leezu’s shop in LBD Village where I grabbed some inventory staples like corsets, socks, and sweaters and then spent an agonizing hour in the room devoted to showcasing the entire Revolution collection. I finally decided on the Mo ensemble.
Mo

Each ensemble contains different pants and skirt options as well as great prim accessories, and Leezu has incorporated a lil design trick that I’m LOVING: alpha textured system skirts over pants.

Included in the Mo package are my new favorite inventory items…a fantastic patchwork coat accented with embossed leather hem and sleeves AND (yes there’s MORE) a highly detailed prim messenger bag.
LBD Revolution Mix
Shown here in a mix and match with skinny jeans and the new Natasha boots from Insolence. I had a hard time finding a shirt that DIDN’T look great under this coat. The color options are nearly endless but I was really pleased with how the orange ChaCha shirt from /artilleri/ picked up the pumpkin tones from the jacket. (psst….the Savvy ruched bustiers also pair FABULOUSLY)

The Mo is just ONE of the great picks from the collection. You really need to hit LBD to experience the rest of Revoution.

Memories Remain

November 10, 2007 Carissa Crimson Leave a comment

My thoughts and prayers are with the close family and friends of Ginny, and the rest of us who’s lives he touched. Working with him was a privilege beyond compare…and no one could have made me feel any more special than he did with the simple name of “punkin”. His memory will live on in our hearts…

Lady Divine

November 4, 2007 Carissa Crimson 1 comment

Nicky Ree has done it again. Glorious textures, fantabulous primwork, everything we’ve all come to expect from Nicky’s high quality designs is Lady Divine, a 40’s inspired ensemble with oodles of options.
LadyDivine Pink
A pants suit with a fur accented coat in tons of options: (1) short jacket with prim that flairs from the fitted waist (2) two versions of a long and full ankle length prim (3) two version of a fitted system skirt that reaches mid calf, slightly open in the front all for $600L.

The floral accented wide brimmed hat is available separately for $150L

Oh! and I had to grab another in RED.
LadyDivine Red

While I was wrestling with color indecision, Nicky was talking with a few of us about an idea she has to promote awareness regarding content theft in SL. For those of you who haven’t been following it, there is a content theif in SL wo has opened a store named aDiva with inventory solely comprised of textures and prims ripped from true designers including Nicky. Look for an announcement from Nicky on how to join up to and help with spreading awareness of content theft.

DigitDarkes & Diversity Hair [review]

November 4, 2007 Carissa Crimson 2 comments

When Sasy Scarborough, the Manager of DigitDarkes and Diversity, IMed me and asked if I was interested in reviewing some items, I realized it had been quite a while since I’d been to either store to check for new goodies. I was upfront with Sasy that I’m pretty biased when it comes to Digit’s designs. I LOVE them…all of them…every pretty lil stitch and prim.

Tulle and Fur Bomber
The first outfit is the gorgeous Tulle skirt in the season perfect Autumn color paired with the softest, fuzziest, curl-up-and-love fur bomber coat. The shimmery gossamer tulle skirt comes complete with a pair of sexy leather hotpants (which look crazy sexy on their own I must say) and a criss crossed flexi tied belt about the hips. The fur bomber…where do I BEGIN. I never ever wanna take it OFF. I mean LOOK how soft it is. The fur is all fantastically textured prim over a solid black jacket layer that ensures all nippley bits are covered. I have so many plans for layering this luxurious coat, knowing it will keep me warm in the upcoming winter months.

Chikra
Worn with the Digit ensemble is the Chikra style from Diversity. Sasy dropped the naturals pack on me, and I have to say…I’m Totally all over Aleri’s hair prim work, but i’m still warming up to the textures. I’m a blondie and (just like RL) blonde textures can be very unforgiving. The Chikra is a high bun with straight fringy bangs that I’ve been favoring lately combined to produce a very classy updo.

Although this next outfit from Digit is officially named Miska, I’d like to propose renaming it “She’s Got Legs!”
Miska
Never have I been so covetous of my avi as I am seeing piccies in this simple babydoll style dress. It’s short and sexy with a sweet prim bow accenting the assymetric back complete with bow accented striped gloves. I love the movement of the skirt as my avi fidgets through AO poses. ADORABLE…’nuff said. Paired with the dress are Digit’s Gingham Check Mary Janes in a Black and White called Cookie. Just more high heeled leg enhancing sexiness with lotsa details.

Tina
The Diversity style Tina taught me a valuable lesson, which is that I can totally deal with the textures depending on the style. This short and choppy razor cut style is a perfect complement to Aleri’s textures. I loved pairing the boyish ‘do with the girly dress.
