Glam World Designer Showcase/SOS Children’s Village Africa charity event
FACES Fashion Show

Join FACES for a fashion show and charity event benefitting SOS Children’s Villages Africa

Two fashion shows will be held on Saturday, December 8th (1PM and 7PM) to celebrate the grand opening of Glam World in the GW1 Fashion Hall

All donations collected during the opening will be sent to the SOS Children’s Villages foundation to benefit African orphans.
There is an epidemic of AIDS engulfing much of Africa, especially sub-Saharan Africa. In some African countries it is estimated that 40% of the working-age population has contracted HIV, with younger and more successful workers being most likely to be affected. However, this is never uniform across a population; 40% of a whole African country will mean there are areas where virtually everyone has contracted HIV/AIDS. The worst affected countries include Swaziland, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Lesotho. In places like these, village after village has no young adults left. The scale of the problem is overwhelming.
SOS Children has developed a strategy for AIDS orphans in Africa where they do not move children from their familiar background but strengthen their community to look after them. SOS has projects helping more than 52,000 African children orphaned by AIDS in more than twenty African countries.
They make the difference between love and abandonment, between a group of young children scavenging for scraps and a small child-led family with adequate nourishment and even the chance of school.

We hope that the Fashion Community’s history of generosity and goodwill toward fund raising efforts like the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and Shine’s Doctors Without Borders will continue and help this worthy cause.

Designers will include:
Antonia Marat – /artilleri/
Chez Nabob – Chez Fine Clothing
LeeZu Baxter – Leezu Designs
Onyx Leshelle – Maitreya
Maria Gherardi – MG Fashions
Nicky Ree – Nicky Ree
Truth Hawk – Truth
Emma Gilmour – Sandshack
Soraya Blachere – Serene Sensations
