You’ve Come a Long Way Baby…

with 4 comments

I couldn’t resist throwing my submission in for Sophia’s Challenge.

Carissa has changed quite a bit since 2006. I have the amazing designers on the grid to thank for that! (and finding a bit more skill with those shape sliders!)

Cari Then

I was a huge, HUGE fan of Digit Darkes when her brand was X3D. In my eyes, her Couture Collection was the best thing since sliced bread. Digit was also the first designer I ever had the nerve to talk to. My signature hair was always black and usually this Billie style from Blooberry. At the time, I was SUPER protective of where this hair could be found, back before many eager shoppers knew how to “Inspect”. The Naughty Designs Alina skin was my first skin love, and I actually wore it exclusively for about 6 months. Then I discovered Lovey Darling skin, ETD hair, went blonde and the rest is history…

And now? I’m much shorter, lost the spider legs, and traded in the “deer in headlights” eyes for “sleepy stoned”. Exclusively blonde, and a skin schizophrenic, too many shoes and a nightmare inventory. Over three years later, that’s at least 2 SLifetimes. You’ve come a long way baby…

  3. I have that same Digit outfit! Actually the whole line. I was so obsessed with her store, I would tp there DAILY to see if there was anything new.

I love seeing so many of you around my age..it makes me feel like we survived the noob war together ❤

Thanks for playing along my little, P.B.

  4. Ahhhhh, I *loved* this post!!
I wore my ND Alina with plum lips and doll lashes exclusively for about 8 months – and looked uncannily like you in your pic 😮 – then I moved on to Lovey Darling skins too. I gradually tweaked my shape and shrank myself down to about 5’7″ from my original 8 feet something in heels.

After almost 3 years I now have more insanely beautiful skins than I can count, but I *loved* that Alina. It was my first major purchase in SL, and I guarded my ‘big secret’ like a maniac – whenever anyone asked where it was from I lied and sent them to Celestial Studios, where they no doubt picked up a superior skin anyway. 🙂
